With massive participation and great success, the Post-Troop Tactical Exercise (“TAMS”) “Cross Eagle 2022” was held again this year, which is organized by the Pan-Cypriot Commando Reserve Association in honor of its Deputy Commander EOKA, Grigori Auxentiou, but also of all those who fell for the freedom of the Motherland.
In addition, this year's exercise was dedicated to the memory of Corporal SYOP (KD), Gianni Panagiotis, who fell in the line of duty, in June 2022. The exercise took place in the wider area of Stavrovouni, between 14-16 October 2022, and was attended by combat patrols consisting of eight members.
The objective purpose of the specific educational activity is to maintain the knowledge acquired during military service, but also to train in new combat subjects. In addition, this activity contributes to maintaining and increasing morale and combativeness, elements that have always governed the Commando Forces.
Among other things, the exercise involved the construction of a sandpit/issuance of an order of battle, the establishment of an observatory to observe main highway, reconnaissance of enemy weapons systems, ambush against a phalanx of enemy vehicles, deployment in a radio-biochemical warfare (RBC) environment, combat first aid and operations in populated areas.
It is worth noting that all the participants showed a high spirit of unity, they trained with seriousness and great mood, showing their determination and dedication to the supreme task⋅ the fight for the freedom of the Motherland.
