The Statistical Service announces that it has published the monthly electronic edition “Statistics of Intra-Community Trade and Trade with Third Countries (by Commodity and Country)” for the period January – December 2021.
The report includes detailed data on the quantity and value of imports and exports of domestically produced and foreign products, by six-digit Commodity Nomenclature Commodity Code and by main trading partner.
The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:
(a) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and third countries) for the period January – December 2021 were € 8,531.2 million compared to € 7,642.1 million for the period January – December 2020, noting increase 11.6%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and third countries) for the period January – December 2021 were € 3,286.7 million compared to € 2,746.6 million for the same period in 2020, an increase of 19.7 %. The trade deficit was € 5,244.5 million for the period January – December 2021 compared to € 4,895.5 million in the corresponding period of 2020. & nbsp;
(b) The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of € 5,519.6 million in total imports, while imports from other European countries were € 659.0 million during the period January – December 2021. Imports from other countries of the world was € 2,352.6 million. & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
(c) Exports to the European Union amounted to € 874.8 million, while exports to other European countries were € 411.4 million during the period January – December 2021. Exports to the rest of the world were € 2,000.5 million. & Nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
The monthly electronic edition “Statistics of Intra-Community Trade and Trade with Third Countries (by Commodity and Country)” for the period January – December 2021 is available free of charge on the website of the Statistical Service.
