The Secretary-General of the United Nations intends to convene an informal 5 + 1 meeting on the Cyprus issue very soon, said the representative of the UN Secretary General, Stefan Duzarik.
Answering a question from KYPE regarding the 5 + 1 meeting, Mr. Duzarik said that after the consultations held by the senior UN official, Jane Hall Luth, in recent months, the Secretary General intends to convene an informal meeting 5 +1 for the Cyprus issue very soon.
“An official announcement will follow. “The purpose of the meeting will be to determine whether there is common ground for the parties to negotiate a viable, lasting solution to the Cyprus problem within a foreseeable horizon,” the UN Secretary-General's spokesman added.
