The draft law prepared for teleworking is expected to be presented to the Minister of Labor, in order to be forwarded to the next meeting of the Labor Advisory Body (ESS).
This was decided yesterday by the Technical Committee appointed by the ESS, which essentially completed the work for which it was set up. At yesterday's meeting of the Technical Committee, the social partners discussed the bill that was prepared, recording their latest remarks, after an article-by-article examination. Although the draft was prepared taking into account the written views of all social partners – unions and employers' organizations – yesterday's discussion did not lack the need for clarifications and comments.

According to information from “F”, in the discussion there were remarks on issues concerning the rules and laws for Safety and Health in the workplace, in the context of telework, to ensure the role of unions in general in the whole process, for the right to disconnection but also the procedures for examining requests from employees for telework for health reasons. The comments were recorded and, as decided, the bill will be forwarded to the Minister of Labor and then to the Labor Advisory Board, with the aim of recording the final positions of the social partners before the bill paves the way for the Council of Ministers and Parliament.
As we wrote again, the bill that was prepared is entitled “the Law on the Regulation of the Organization of Teleworking 2022” and among other things ensures that teleworking is agreed between the two parties or is imposed for health reasons – following relevant decisions of the Ministry of Health . It ensures that for health reasons the employee can also request teleworking and procedures are provided in case of refusal of the employer in this direction.
