Students, students, start-ups, entrepreneurs and researchers can submit their ideas to the fieldof green development
The ClimateLaunchpad, the world's largest business idea competition in the field of green development, is back again this year for the 10th consecutive year, looking for new talent in the field of green technology and innovation. Those who dream of starting their own business and developing their ideas to become sustainable and grow into global businesses will have the opportunity to submit their ideas until April 15, 2023 through the website http://climatelaunchpad.org/application-form/.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the competition. ClimateLaunchpad is run by EIT Climate-KIC. EIT Climate-KIC, the European Union's main innovation initiative for climate change. The competition started in 2014 with only 11 participating countries, including Cyprus, while this year start-ups from 25 countries worldwide have the right to apply. The responsible body for the ClimateLaunchpad competition in Cyprus is for one more year Chrysalis LEAP, the first Cypriot platform for accelerating business ideas.
Over the last decade the ClimateLaunchpad has evolved and is now implemented entirely online. With this transformation, ClimateLaunchpad contributes even more to tackling climate change since it not only offers the resources and knowledge to young potential entrepreneurs to develop their green idea, but also makes the competition even more environmentally friendly.
The competition was established to help those who wish to turn their green ideas into global businesses, and applauds innovations in renewable energy, energy efficiency, food and agriculture, water, transport, of industrial technology or any other way of dealing with climate change.
The teams that will be selected will go through an intensive two-day “bootcamp” on the 24th & May 25 and six training sessions to prepare for the National Final, which will be held this summer in Cyprus. The top three finalists from each country will have the opportunity to compete in the Regional Final. The first three best teams of the Regional Final will also receive a cash prize of €1,500, €1,000 and €500 respectively.

Chrysalis LEAP, the first business idea accelerator, is the official organizer of EIT ClimateLaunchpad for Cyprus.

The transition of the competition to an entirely online event, emphasizes even more the dedication of ClimateLaunchpad to tackling climate change, as it not only offers the tools and knowledge to young and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their green idea, but it is also becoming even more environmentally friendly in itself.
The competition is set up to help aspiring entrepreneurs grow their green ideas into global businesses, and welcomes innovations in renewable energy, energy efficiency, food and agriculture, water, transportation, industrial technology or any other way to tackle climate change.
The selected participants will start off their training with an intensive 2-day Boot Camp on the 24th & 25th of May, followed by 6 intensive coaching sessions to prepare for their National Finals, that will be organized in Cyprus. The participating teams will present their business idea before a renowned Jury, which will select the best 3 teams to represent Cyprus at the Regional Final. The Top 3 teams of the Regional Final will win €1,500, €1,000 and €500.
