Four sampling points for the coronavirus population test with rapid tests, will operate on Thursday in the city and province of Larnaca and two in the province of Famagusta.
Specifically, in Larnaca the four sampling points will operate from 08.30 in the morning until 16.30 in the afternoon in the parking lot of Agios Georgios Kontos (opposite the cemetery), in the parking lot of the supermarket “Sklaveniti”, in the parking lot of the supermarket “L” in Aradippou and in the park next to the Bank of Cyprus and the supermarket “Stelios” in Livadia.
In the province of Famagusta, there will be two sampling points from 08.30 in the morning until 16.30 in the parking lot of the “Sklavenitis” supermarket in Paralimni and in the church of Panagia Ayia Napa in Ayia Napa.
It is reminded that according to an announcement of the Ministry of Health, the citizens will be informed about the result of their laboratory examination by text message within 24 hours, but also in writing, if they wish, from the mobile units within 30 minutes from the sampling.
A sampling point will be open today, Thursday, for rapid tests in Paphos, the Ministry of Health announced.
The sampling unit for the control of the general population with rapid antigen test in Paphos will be located in the parking lot of the supermarket “Lidl”, at 49 Alexandrou Ypsilantis Street, Agios Pavlos from 8.30 am. until 4.30 p.m. afternoon.
The Ministry of Health clarifies that the citizens will be informed about the result of their laboratory examination by text message within 24 hours, but also in writing, if they wish, from the mobile units within 30 'from the sampling.
In addition, 231 rapid tests were performed yesterday without detecting a case, in the context of passenger control at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
Besides, 432 rapid antigen tests were performed in Paphos yesterday with 3 positive results and a positivity rate of 0.69%.
Vaccinations
In the meantime, vaccinations for people over 80 years of age continue smoothly at the Paphos General Hospital, according to the Director of the Paphos General Hospital, Dr. Spyros Georgiou.
Mr. Georgiou added that the vaccinations continue for the doctors of the private sector whose names are sent by the Ministry of Health and after consultation with the medical companies.
He pointed out that the vaccinations are done at the vaccination center of the Paphos General Hospital, while tomorrow, Friday, the vaccinations will be done at Polis Chrysochous Hospital for the staff and people of the nursing homes.
It is noted that so far 180 people have been vaccinated by the staff of Paphos General Hospital and in the next phase those who express their desire will be vaccinated.
Finally, the Director of Paphos Hospital called on the people to be vaccinated so that, as he said, we can all contribute to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
