Thessaloniki: A two-year-old girl with serious burns – Burned by the ignition of a gasoline can

A little two-year-old girl is fighting to stay alive, who suffered serious burns after a gasoline can ignited next to her father's car, in Lagadas, Thessaloniki. She is now hospitalized at the Aglaia Kyriakou Children's Hospital.

The incident according to thestival took place last Saturday in a village in the Municipality of Lagada when the girl's 28-year-old father was filling the car with gasoline from a canister.

Under unspecified circumstances, an ignition was caused as a result of which the girl's clothes were engulfed in flames and burns were caused to her body.

The child was initially transferred to the Papageorgiou hospital in Thessaloniki, but the doctors deemed it necessary her transfer to Aglaia Kyriakou Children's Hospital, resulting in an airlift.

According to ertnews, the child has suffered 60% burns all over his body and his condition is considered particularly serious. She is intubated in the intensive care unit of the pediatric hospital.

Her 28-year-old father, who was also injured, was taken to the AHEPA hospital. A case has been filed against the 28-year-old father for exposing a minor to danger. A preliminary investigation into the incident is being carried out by the Lagada Security Department.
