The Police, in the last 24 hours (from 06.00 on Saturday until 06.00 today Sunday), in the context of 3,265 checks carried out throughout Cyprus, made complaints of 19 citizens and those in charge of 5 premises for non-compliance with the measures against COVID-19 and its decrees On Infectious Disease Law.
As a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters stated to KYPE, most of the citizens' complaints concerned trafficking without the use of a protective mask or SafePass in public places and premises.
Regarding the complaints about premises, he clarified that they concern overcrowding and standing customers.
Regarding the inspections by province, 1,295 inspections were carried out in Nicosia, during which a citizen and the person in charge of a property were reported. In Limassol, 296 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 10 complaints from citizens. In Larnaca, 572 inspections were carried out, from which no complaints emerged.
In Paphos, 290 inspections were carried out, which resulted in complaints from the managers of 4 premises and 3 citizens.
In Famagusta 461 inspections were carried out, from which complaints of 5 citizens emerged and in the area of Morfos 180 inspections were carried out without any complaint.
The Traffic Police carried out 136 inspections throughout Cyprus, from which no complaints emerged.
At airports and ports, 35 inspections were carried out without any complaints.
