The leaderships of several unions of the wider “public sector” as well as representatives of political parties in the occupied territories met in the morning at the electricity production plant of the “electricity authority” to support the workers' union in it, “El Sen”, regarding the crisis in energy sector, the unsafe operation of the station and mismanagement.
Meanwhile, according to the GTP, the local press is writing today that it was mobilized the Turkish “embassy” to solve the electricity problem and the seven-member team of the Electricity Production Company of Turkey (EUAŞ), led by its general manager who came from Turkey continue the work to repair the damage at the “electricity authority” station at the Bank of Kyrenia.
According to information from the Turkish “embassy” in occupied Nicosia, the aim of the works carried out under the coordination of the “ambassador” Yassin Ekrem Serim, is to put the generator number 8 into operation.
Furthermore, it was decided to send a 25 megawatt mobile power plant from Turkey to the territories, in order to overcome the shortfall in electricity production during periods when demand is high.
The mobile unit that will come to the occupied territories in September and with the operation of generator 8, the electricity needs will be met and the interruptions in the power supply that affect many sectors of the economy will be reduced to a minimum.
