Next Stacked in queues for gasoline in the occupied HOME • INSIDER • CYPRUS • Stacked in queues for gasoline in the occupied

The flirtation of the price of gasoline and oil with two euros per liter seems to have increased the queues at the roadblocks and in general the crossings of vehicles to the occupied ones. According to data provided by “Φ” from the Police, the crossings of vehicles from the roadblocks controlled by the Republic of Cyprus to the occupied ones on Saturday, May 28 were 2,368 vehicles, while the day before yesterday, June 4, they were launched at 3,284.
We remind you that on Friday there was a new increase in fuel prices that got a lot of publicity, as the price of gasoline in some cases exceeded the psychological barrier of € 1.80 per liter. As is well known, many of our fellow citizens, in order to save money, as high inflation tests the resilience of all households, are supplied with fuel from the occupied areas, although not all vehicle crossings translate into the occupied ones filling the tank.

The increase in the number of vehicles that went to the occupied areas on Saturday 4 June compared to the 28th of May amounted to 38%, as the day before yesterday they went to the occupied 916 vehicles more than just a week ago and it is not ruled out to some extent this increase should also be related to fuel prices. Due to taxation and other factors, the prices in the occupied areas are cheaper by about 50 cents per liter for gasoline and oil compared to those in force in KD. Yesterday, the average price of 95 octane gasoline in the free areas was € 1,751 per liter and diesel at € 1,831 per liter. & Nbsp; while for the issue with yesterday's article in “Φ” the secretary general of AKEL Stefanos Stefanos called on the Government to make public the estimated revenue losses “from the fact that thousands of Greek Cypriots are supplied with fuel from the occupied territories”. The above question & nbsp; & nbsp; of Mr. Stefanos was only one of the 11 addressed to the government on the issue of fuels that as a result of the ongoing price rally, but also of allegations of scandal will be discussed extraordinarily in the Energy Committee & nbsp; of the Parliament tomorrow Tuesday. The meeting was attended by, among others, representatives of ministries, the PSC, gas station owners, consumers and oil companies.
