Police investigations continue into the murder in the Central Prisons on Thursday, with the Turkish Cypriot Tansu Cidan 41 years old as the victim, who according to the findings of the autopsy was beaten to death by his fellow inmates.
Guided by what was recorded by the closed circuit of the penitentiary in the previous hours, the investigators of the TAE Nicosia are trying to put together the puzzle of the savage killer, while the 8 arrested continue to be detained in cells outside the Central Prisons.
As informed by the Cyprus Times, yesterday Sunday, a group of investigators went to the Central Prisons again to see prisoners and jailers. Today, prison guards are expected to pass by the offices of the TAE Nicosia for a statement, while what they mentioned in the fact reports they handed in with the instructions of the Directorate of Central Prisons is being studied. A total of nine prison guards are expected – so far – to testify to the Police about the case.
