The government is re-drawing the Home Plan from the drawers, to help many who could not join, because they did not meet the criterion of non-performing loans that were placed in the original perimeter, even blaming the banks.
Yesterday, after the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Finance, Konstantinos Petridis, spoke about the bad practice of the banks when the measure was implemented and clarified that the Home Plan will now include the applications that had received substandard handling by the credit institutions. One of the main criteria for inclusion in the Home for protection of the main residence plan, was that the loans be non-performing both on July 30, 2017 and on June 30, 2019. The issue raised by the government is in the manipulations they may have made banks in troubled loans through restructuring, but which did not have much future.
