In statements, after the second meeting between them that took place at the offices of DIPA, Mr. Karoyan described the discussion as “very constructive and substantial” and “in some places very thorough” and added that DIPA wanted to have the positions and approaches of Mr. Christodoulidis “regarding the framework for the solution of the Cyprus problem but also the positions that our side should defend throughout the next period”.
“We are aware of the fact that Turkey does not show any sign of wanting to abandon the ruthless and extreme positions regarding the Cyprus issue, but also its position, which departs from the framework of the UN resolutions and the EU decisions that it insists on. persistently in its position for two states “, he added.

Referring to their discussion on energy, Mr. Karoyan said that DIPA is working on “a composed position, not only regarding our fields but also how ours in cooperation with Israel can be useful to the EU throughout this period and how this can upgrade the role of Cyprus within this wider planning if one takes into account the positions of the EU for de-dependence of a significant part of its imports from Russia”.
