Suspicions were raised during the passport control
Two men, aged 25 and 20, from Africa were arrested at Larnaca airport for circulating a forged document and for impersonating. The two people went to Larnaca airport to travel to another European country and during the passport control they presented a fake passport. Interrogated, the two admitted that they presented a fake passport, with the police arresting them for a self-inflicted crime.
According to the police, at 17:30 on Saturday afternoon, a 25-year-old man went to Larnaca Airport “Glafkos Clerides” to leave by flight to another European country.
During the passport control, suspicions were raised that the passport was forged. The 25-year-old admitted during interrogation that the passport he presented was forged and reported his real details to the police authorities. He was subsequently arrested for a self-inflicted crime and remanded in custody.
Also on Saturday, according to the police, at 18:00 in the afternoon, a 20-year-old man from an African country went to Larnaca Airport “Glafkos Clerides” to depart by flight to another European country.
Suspicions were raised during the passport control and the 20-year-old admitted interrogating that the passport he presented was forged, while he also mentioned his real details. He was subsequently arrested for a self-inflicted crime and remanded in custody.
The two men will appear today before the Larnaca District Court for the offenses related to the circulation of a forged document and for forgery. The two incidents are being investigated by the Larnaca TAE.
