They will be resurrected like Christ in the land of Palestine, says the Ambassador at a PSE event
The message that the Palestinian people will not kneel, will rise and remain in their land was sent by the Ambassador of Palestine to Cyprus, Abdallah Attari, in an event he organized on the afternoon of Friday, in Eleftheria Square, the Pan-Cypriot Peace Council, for the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
At the event, AKEL's parliamentary representative Giorgos Loukaidis, the President of Environmentalists – Citizens' Cooperation Giorgos Perdikis and the former president of OPEC Larkos Larkou addressed their greetings.
They were attended by former MEPs and AKEL MPs, current MPs and executives, the General Assembly and members of the PEO, members of the leadership of the Environmental Movement, representatives of other organizations and ordinary citizens holding Palestinian flags and placards with slogans against the genocide of the Palestinian people. The event was organized on the occasion of March 30, which is celebrated as Palestinian Land Day.
AKEL's parliamentary representative Giorgos Loukaidis said in his greeting that we gathered in Eleftherias Square to join our voices with those who internationally condemn the crimes committed by Israel, with the millions of people in Europe and around the world who do not want the their governments to support those who murder innocents every day.
Some, he said, were shocked that 30 children had been killed by the Hamas attack, but they didn't seem bothered at all when we count more than 13,000 children killed so far, unmoved by the fact that Gaza has been leveled and that the murderous blockade is leading to starvation.
Mr. Loukaidis said that it is a shame that those in Cyprus, “starting with the Government and going to DISY and DIKO, have so far not uttered a word about Israel's genocide”.
He mentioned that his party tabled a resolution in the House and they brought theirs that “patches the state of Israel.” He also criticized the fact that the Speaker of the Parliament, with support from DISY and ELAM, responded negatively to AKEL's demand that the Parliament building be illuminated with the colors of Palestine in support of the Palestinian people, while they had done so for Ukraine.< /p>
Mr Loukaidis wondered how it is that the lives of the 30 children killed by Hamas had value and rightly so, but not the 13,000 children murdered so far in Palestine.
He said that he was not surprised by the Parliament's attitude and wondered where our credibility is when we are still living with the consequences of the Turkish invasion and occupation and the violation of international law.
For the maritime corridor, the parliamentary AKEL's representative questioned whether a corridor has any meaning and effect if we do not demand a permanent ceasefire and land transport of medicines and food.
The President of Environmentalists George Perdikis said that we express our indignation and condemnation for Israel's unjust, unjustified and criminal attitude, noting that we who are living the occupation, have a sacred duty and obligation to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and demand the withdrawal of troops and the immediate achievement of peace.
Larkos Larkou, former president of OPEC said that we are here to condemn an international crime with 32,000 dead and stressed that there must be a permanent ceasefire and immediate and unimpeded aid to the Palestinians. He also stated that the Palestinians have every right to have their own state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also criticized the Republic of Cyprus for a one-sided attitude that undermines its own credibility.
The Palestinian Ambassador Abdullah Attari expressed regret that after 32,000 dead, some still talk about Israel's act of self-defense. He said that the Palestinian issue started in 1948 and added that with what is happening today, “the apartheid state that is Israel is exposed which wants to make Gaza uninhabitable and expel the people from their land“ 8221;.
He mentioned that at the same time “the hypocrisy and incompetence of the great world powers is also growing”.
“We will live again and rise up and build Gaza and we will be resurrected. Christ was born and resurrected in Palestinian land, but we doubt the resurrection of the conscience of the international community,” he said characteristically.
