The Pediatric Department of Larnaca General Hospital is treating a 13-year-old resident of Larnaca province, who was injured in a road collision, which occurred this morning inside the dead zone, in the area of Athienou.
The 13-year-old is said to have been the driver of the vehicle, while three other minors were in it.
According to the examined data, the accident happened around 11.20 am. today, a rural road, inside the dead zone, in the area of Athienou. Under the circumstances under investigation, the 13-year-old allegedly lost control of the vehicle he was driving, as a result of which it overturned in a field and came to a standstill.
The 13-year-old driver was injured and transported by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital , where he was found to have suffered a thoracic vertebral fracture and was being held for treatment. Two other 13-year-olds and a 15-year-old, who were also in the car, were not injured.
Athenou Police Station is investigating the case.
