Based on the draft law, which is signed by MPs Irini Charalambidou, Christiana Erotokritou, Chrysis Pantelidis, Christos Senekis, Kostis Efstathiou and Stavros Papadouris, before the Committees to arrive:
“The Chief and Deputy Chief of Police, the Chief and Deputy Chief of the National Guard, the Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, the Commissioners, the Superintendent, the regulator or the president and members of an Authority or other Body by law or decision of the Council of Ministers, the chairmen and members of the boards of directors of legal persons under public law, including local authorities, and any other person who is not a civil servant and who holds an office or position for which the salary or the remuneration or compensation or sponsorship is paid by the Republic or by a legal person governed by public law “.
The President of the Republic and the holders of positions in the judicial service of the Republic are excluded from the obligation.
The draft law clarifies that “in case the case concerns the Attorney General of the Republic and the Parliament decides that the public interest imposes further promotion of the issue, forwards the conclusion of the Examination Committee, together with the collected real material, to the President of the Republic for any manipulation he deems to be correct and appropriate “.
Further, it is stated that the purpose of the draft law ensuring the effectiveness of parliamentary scrutiny.
