APOEL has given three friendlies so far. One in Cyprus -more for relaxation- with PAEEK (1-0) and two in Bulgaria, where the main part of the preparation takes place, with Apollon Smyrnis (0-0) and Bnei Sahnin (0-1).
Just one goal, which even came from the penalty spot, is one of the elements that is a point of comment in the criticism of the image presented by the blue and yellows. It would be an exaggeration, however, if someone claimed that the APOEL of the new year… will be one of the same as last season. In addition, three of the seven new acquisitions have not yet been integrated into the team.
Karo, Kvilitaia, Theodorou and Danilo played in all three friendlies, with the latter being the one who impresses the most. From there on, Okriashvili and the last… of the Chebake team are now integrated in the training sessions in Bulgaria, Dausville remains in Cyprus and is not counted in the other two friendlies in Bulgaria, while some others were left out of the last matches (e.g. Garner).
In addition, there is the possibility of further transfers and therefore we still have plenty of way to judge the “new APOEL”.
