The Holy Synod has – so far – three objections in front of it, regarding the result of the Archbishop's elections.
This fact was confirmed to Rick by a competent source.
< p> According to information, the specific objections do not affect the essence of the elections and therefore are not expected to affect the continuation of the process for the election of the new Archbishop.
All the objections will be examined – tomorrow – by the Holy Synod, and if no substantial obstacles arise, the House will proceed to ratify the election result.
At the same time, the date will be announced on which the sixteen members of the Holy Synod will choose the next Archbishop – of Nea Justiniani and all of Cyprus, between the Metropolitans of Limassol, Paphos, and Tamasos and Orini.
It is estimated that the election of the new Primate of the Church of Cyprus will take place between Christmas and New Year and the enthronement within fifteen days of the decision of the Holy Synod.
