Extraordinary session of the Parliamentary Energy Committee – The terminal in Vasilikos, the Cyprus-Greece-Israel electrical interconnection and the organization of trips to the occupied territories will be the topics that will be discussed
The Parliamentary Energy Committee is having an extraordinary meeting this morning to be informed again about the progress of the terminal implementation > importation of liquefied natural gas in Vasiliko and the electrical interconnection Cyprus-Greece-Israel, through the submarine cable Great Sea Interconnector (GSI).< /p>
The Committee's session will start at 10.00 am and it will also be informed about the latest developments regarding the organization of travel to and from the occupied territories, while there will also be a discussion about the implementation process of the terminal in Vasilikos and about GSI.
The discussion on the Cyprus-Greece-Israel electricity interconnection via the Great Sea Interconnector undersea cable will focus on the guarantees of the GSI implementer in the event of geopolitical risk and reduction in the amount of sponsorship and participation of the Republic of Cyprus in the equity capital of the project.
It will also focus on the issues related to the recovery of electrical interconnection revenues during construction and the assumption of responsibility regarding project completion uncertainties.
Among others, the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry, the Deputy Minister to the President, the Deputy Minister of Tourism and the Auditor General have been invited to attend the session.
