Tourist arrivals in November 2021 amounted to 148,973 compared to 8,952 recorded in November 2022 and 169,392 arrivals recorded in November 2019.
For the period January – November 2021, tourist arrivals amounted to 1,840,003 compared to 621,927 in the corresponding period of 2020, recording an increase of 195.9% and a decrease of 52.4% compared to the period January – November 2019 (3,866. 447 arrivals).
Arrivals from the United Kingdom were the main source of tourism for November 2021, accounting for 22.7% (33,829) of total arrivals, arrivals from Germany 10.0% (14,945), arrivals from Russia in 9.6% (14,236), arrivals from Poland 8.8% (13,105), arrivals from Greece 8.5% (12,629) and arrivals from Israel 7.7% (11,474).
The purpose of travel in November 2021 was for a percentage of 75.8% of tourists the holidays, for 13.3% the visit to friends or relatives and for a percentage of 10.9% business. Respectively, for November 2020, 39.4% visited Cyprus for holidays, 25.5% for visiting friends or relatives and 35.1% for business reasons.
