And although there is still a way (and many difficulties) until the completion of the investigations, the goal is to complete the conclusion by the end of October. The conclusion of the investigating officers – lawyers Ilias Stefanos and Efthymios T. On September 28, 2023, Fanis Makridis wrote to “F” that the conclusion of Stefanos – Efthimios is “extremely burdensome for the president of the Cyprus Football Federation” and that “the testimonies are such that they leave no doubt about the irreconcilable (there are clear references ), while they seem to even make it possible to manipulate the league.” “This inconsistency has to do with Mr. Couma's status as a senior executive of KOP, in conjunction with his multiple capacities as a businessman dealing in television rights, producing sports television product, as well as having an interest in a company engaged in agent of athletes and clubs”.</p> <p > <p ><b>Background</b></p> <p >It is recalled that on November 3, 2023, the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus, Giorgos Savvidis, gave instructions to the Chief of Police, Stelios Papatheodorou, for a criminal investigation in relation to a possible irreconcilable KOP official, following a study of the conclusion forwarded to the Attorney General by the Sports Ethics and Protection Committee on October 10, 2023. Specifically, according to the announcement at the time, the Attorney General decided to send the findings and witness material to the Chief of Police, with instructions “for a criminal investigation regarding the possibility of committing any criminal offenses by KOP officials or any other person, which arise or are related to the facts mentioned in the conclusion prepared by order of the Commission by the Investigating Officers etc. Ilias Stefanou and Efthimio T. Efthimiou, dated 26.9.2023, and concern a possible violation of the provisions of the Anti-Manipulation of Sports Events Law, Law 180(I)/2017 and/or any other criminal offences. In addition, the Attorney General decided to appoint, as an independent criminal investigator, the lawyer and former senior provincial judge, Alexandras Lykourgou, to assist in the criminal investigation conducted by the Police.</p> <p > <p ><b>Almost a year</b></p> <p > <noindex></p> <div class=Source: politis.com.cy
