Reduced by about 50% was the traffic in leisure centers during Easter, according to the President of the All-Cypriot Federation of Leisure Center Owners (OSIKA), Neophytos Thrasyvoulou.
In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Thrasyvoulou also referred to the reduced tourist traffic, also due to the fact that the Catholic Easter was more early this year, from Orthodox Easter.
He also said that Cypriots preferred to spend the Easter holiday at family tables. The traffic in the recreation centers is expected to increase, as he estimated, today Easter Monday and tomorrow as well.
The recreation centers, he continued, "moved" somewhat during Holy Week, from the students who came to Cyprus to spend the Easter holidays with their families.
In response to a question, Mr. Thrasyvoulos stated that “to his credit”, the Minister of Labor strengthened the Department of Labor, for granting work permits to people from third countries, noting that what they are requesting is, as with the departure of political asylum seekers, that the professionals in the sector be immediately given permission to bring personnel from third countries within 20-30 days.
In addition, Mr. Thrasyvoulos mentioned the problems of bureaucracy, adding that OSIKA is trying to reduce it.
