Heavy traffic is observed in the streets of Troodos, around 12.30 on Saturday noon, with members of the Police being at various points to regulate traffic and provide assistance to the public where needed.
The roads leading to Troodos, like all roads in the mountains, are open to all vehicles.
The Police, however, due to the heavy traffic that is observed, recommends caution to those who travel on the road network of the mountains, while urging drivers to move at a safe, low speed, to maintain a safe distance from oncoming vehicles and to follow the instructions of on duty as police officers.
It is pointed out that the situation on the road network is changing due to the prevailing winter conditions. The public is urged to be informed about the situation on the road network before their movements, through the announcements of the Police.
