The monthly pedestrian count showed an increase of 58.7% in March this year compared to the same month last year
An important parameter that affects traffic is the weather conditions that prevail during the winter season.
The Municipality of Nicosia provided interesting information regarding the number of visitors to Makariou Avenue. These are data obtained from the measurements of the Counting Analytics system – software that processes the image from the cameras, counting pedestrians, trucks, bicycles, motorcycles and buses – and show that pedestrian traffic on the Avenue has increased by 58.7% this year March, compared to the same period last year. Specifically, from the 87,612 pedestrians who visited the boulevard in March 2022, they reached 212,177 in March 2023.
March 2023 also shows an increase of 41.23% compared to December 2022 (Christmas period ).
