AEK equalized at 90+2' with their captain and avoided defeat by Paphos

AEK and Paphos emerged tied at 1-1 at the “Arena”. The “blue” opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a nice conversion by Kvinda. Larnaca pressed, created opportunities and in the end managed to get the tie thanks to a goal by Triskovski in the 90+2' after a corner by Giurzo.

First Half

AEK entered with more demands and had possession of the ball in the early stages of the match. The first good moment for Luis Oltra's team came in the 7th minute. Gourtso with a shot in the traffic through the area forced Ivusic to make a difficult save.

The Larnakas had the initiative of the movements but Paphos closed the spaces well and made the home team's work difficult. In the 13th minute, Ledes tried to score with a shot outside the area, but the ball went over the posts. Two minutes later Gourcho's shot was also hopelessly off target.

Paphos could not keep the ball and threaten. Her first final effort turned into a goal in the 38th minute. After a corner and a stoppage time in AEK's territory, Kvinda sent the ball into Piric's net with a nice turn.

AEK tried to react in the remaining minutes of the first half but failed.

Shortly before the end of the half, Paphos was left with ten players due to the dismissal of Tankovic as the Swede committed a hard foul on Iakolis.

Second Half

As expected, the home team pressed from the start of the second half to find the equalizing goal immediately.

However, the first good moment in the replay was for the visitors. In the 55th minute, Kvinda tried to score from quite a distance, but the ball went just over Piric's posts.

AEK responded in the 58th minute with Lopes. The Portuguese tried to square the onrushing Ivusic but the ball went over the bar.

Oltra's team shut down Paphos in their own half and were constantly outside Ivusic's area. However, imagination and the right final pass were lacking for the goal to come.

In 66' Rosales made the parallel turn but Triskovski could not find the target from close range as the ball was coming with enough power .

The home team came within a breath of an equalizer in the 78th minute when Giurzo took a powerful shot inside the area and Kvinda headed over the line.

Paphos missed a double chance in the 86th minute to end the match. Initially, Piric cut off Bruno's cross and as the phase progressed, Ledes saved the opposition from Pelazio's shot.

The goal for AEK came in the 90+2' after Giurzo's corner kick and close range Triskovski's header.

1-1 was also the final score.
