After yesterday… uncontrollable situation that was observed in Troodos Square, where a lot of people gathered without taking precautionary measures against the new coronavirus, the Police – which failed to anticipate Saturday's influx – announced that today Sunday, for reasons of public health and To avoid overcrowding, all roads leading to Troodos will be raided and access to Troodos Square will only be allowed on a small number of vehicles at a time.
According to a police announcement, the traffic of citizens in the Troodos area was increased yesterday and dozens of complaints were made for violation of measures against COVID, traffic offenses and street vending. From the inspections, the members of the Police proceeded to 21 complaints of citizens, regarding violations of the Law on Dehumidification, 34 complaints for various traffic offenses and four complaints for illegal street vending.
The Police reminds that the presence of the public in the area of Troodos, is allowed only for individual exercise or sport, in the nature paths of the Department of Forests and not for any other purpose. The presence of the Police in the area is increased to manage the situation and control the implementation of measures against the coronavirus.
