How the Middle East War Affects Israeli Investments in the Occupied

The Lease
Nadir and Atalai leased to Zionist Lewis for $10 million the area, which they had leased for 49 years through “PORT BARBAROS” for a nominal fee, the publication says.
According to the contract, the Trust Group< /strong>of Lewis was to build a marina, two hotels, two holiday villages, shopping centers and social facilities in the area. Lewis was not satisfied with the contract, did not implement it and asked the so-called government to extend the lease period to 99 years and additionally grant him a casino license.

According to a Türkiye article on September 9, 2023, Turkish security sources in the occupied territories did not approve the transfer of the marina and the settlement area. A senior military official in occupied Cyprus who spoke to the newspaper on the matter said that “the transfer of Karpasia to a foreign company poses serious security risks”.
He also said that “the marina is of strategic importance as it faces Alexandretta and the Gulf of Antalya and is a potential threat to the Turkish military base being built in the neighboring area alongside the growing Greek threat”.
