Turkish Presidency: Denies Tsavousoglu's threat of resignation

The Turkish Presidency denies a Deutsche Welle report that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu has threatened to resign if the ten Ambassadors are expelled.

Turkish Presidency Communications Officer Fahrettin Altun reacted to Deutsche Welle's news of Tsavusoglu's threat of resignation by posting on his Twitter account that “you are not only spreading false news, but you are also poisoning German relations.”

Specifically, Mr. Altun wrote that “our Foreign Minister denied this alleged news last night. Nevertheless, insist on this lie. “If your goal was to be a journalist, you would have withdrawn this news and apologized.”

Meanwhile, the leader of the National Action Party (MHP), Devlet Bahceli, speaking to his party's parliamentary group, told him that “no one has expressed the slightest reaction to the (ECHR) decisions against Greece.”

He also claimed that “the ten Ambassadors entered the same position as Soros and Kavala and brought a kind of memorandum to Turkey”. According to him, “this memorandum is immoral, it kills our sovereign rights, it is a conspiracy against our independence. Therefore, it is illegal. ” They moved, he argued, “against the Vienna Convention and our Constitution.” The ambassadors, he claimed, “tried to sabotage the dignity of the rule of law, judicial independence and democracy.”

According to Bahceli, “the step behind the statement of October 18, the US Ambassador to Ankara, means that no foreign mission should try to re-create tension and crisis between the countries.”

For Osman Kavala he said that “if a verdict is issued against him, he now needs to serve his sentence here and then be sent to one of the ten countries, whose Ambassadors said he should be released, taking away his citizenship. “Everyone should know their position, we do not tolerate disrespect.”

For her part, the president of the Good Party (IYI Partisi), Meral Aksener, in her statements on the channel, which is close to the opposition, Karar TV, commenting on the statement of the 10 Ambassadors, said that “since a country has signed the decisions of the ECtHR and does not comply with its decisions, ceases to be an internal matter. “Mr. Erdogan shouting and shouting again does not pursue a proper foreign policy.”

However, a diplomatic source told Reuters that the crisis had been resolved between the US delegation and the representative of the Turkish presidency, Ibrahim Kalin, as well as Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu.
