The Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court imposed a 12-year prison sentence today on a 32-year-old man, who was found guilty in a case of illegal importation and possession of one kilogram and 260 grams of methamphetamine.
A statement from the Police Communications Branch states that “the drugs were found in the luggage of the 32-year-old, who arrived in September 2023, from abroad, at Larnaca Airport.”
Specifically, it is added, according to control, carried out by a customs officer, a quantity of methamphetamine was identified and seized, with a total gross weight of one kilogram and 260 grams.
“The drugs were in nine nylon packages, which were carefully hidden inside three wooden trays” , the Police report.
The investigation into the case was undertaken by the Larnaca District Unit of the National Police Service.
