Two arrested for shoplifting in Paphos and Polis Chrysochous - They took wallets, mobile phones and watches

Two cases of theft from shops in Paphos and Polis Chrysochous are being investigated by the Police, who proceeded to arrest two persons aged 37 and 25, in order to facilitate the investigations.

According to a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, a store manager in Paphos complained that two people went to the store on Monday, November 1st, while it was open, around 16:00, and seized three leather wallets worth a total of 173 euros.

Yesterday, the manager of the store realized that one of the two suspects went to the store again and immediately notified the Police. Members of the Paphos police station went to the place where they located the suspect, aged 37 years.

An arrest warrant was issued against him and he was subsequently arrested and remanded in custody. The crime of shoplifting is being investigated against him.

In another case, Paphos Police are investigating a case of shoplifting and theft in Polis Chrysochous.
Specifically, yesterday a store owner in Polis Chrysochous complained that a little earlier a door of her store was open and in the yard at the back of the store there was a suspicious person, who identified himself as a person from the area. As it turned out, this is a 25-year-old man, who fled at the sight of the owner of the store.

Following an inspection carried out in her shop, the complainant found that two mobile phones with a total value of 830 euros, and two women's watches with a total value of 580 euros had been stolen. The total value of the stolen amounts to 1,410 euros. An arrest warrant was issued against the 25-year-old suspect and last night he was located and arrested by members of the Polis Chrysochous police station.

A search of his home was then carried out without finding any of the stolen items. The examinations continue from the Polis Chrysochous police station.
