Two arrests for burglary and theft in Paphos

The arrest of a 32-year-old man with a court warrant was made today by members of the Police in Paphos, in connection with two investigated cases of burglary of a warehouse with building materials, from which marble columns and pieces of stone were stolen. A 39-year-old woman was arrested last Monday in the same case and was taken into custody.

According to the Police, the two burglaries took place on February 15-16 and on February 19-20. Fifty marble columns, worth a total of 2,500 euros, were stolen from the warehouse during the first burglary, while around 125 pieces of stone for wall cladding, worth a total of 400 euros, were stolen during the second burglary.

From the examinations carried out by the TAE Paphos, evidence emerged against the 32-year-old and the 39-year-old, against whom arrest warrants were obtained. An arrest warrant was also issued against the 41-year-old, since according to the information under investigation, the perpetrators used a car of which she is the registered owner.

Last Monday, the members of TAE Paphos proceeded with a search at the home of the 39-year-old, in Paphos, where they found marble columns and stone slabs that are believed to have been stolen from the said warehouse. Police also found stone slabs, marble carvings and other objects whose origins are being investigated. Part of the property found had already been used on the walls and walls of the house.

The 39-year-old was arrested the same day with a court order, while yesterday, Tuesday, she was brought before the Paphos District Court, which approved a relevant request of the Police and issued a six-day detention order, for the purpose of investigating the case.

Shortly after 15:00 today, the 32-year-old and 41-year-old were located by the members of the TAE and arrested. The 41-year-old was later released, since the investigations that followed her arrest did not reveal anything incriminating against her, while the 32-year-old was taken into custody, for the purpose of police investigations.
