For the SupportCY Volunteer Corps and the Cyprus Police.
The search tactics of missing minors and adults, the planning of the profile of the missing person, the use of new technologies, security in the field of operations as well as the psychology of the rescuer were the main subjects of the training that 36 members of the Bank of Cyprus' SupportCY Volunteer Corps and members of various Police Departments received.
The two-day training, which took place in the context of the operational upgrading and effectiveness of their action in the investigation of missing persons, was carried out by the experienced Greek trainer Kostantinos Kalfuntzos at SupportCY House.
At the end of the training, the participants carried out an operational exercise, under from bad weather conditions. The scenario concerned a missing person in Nicosia who, due to his situation and also due to the weather conditions, had to be located as soon as possible.
The training was supported by the Pancypriot Association for People with Autism, in which was attended by officers of the Association and gave useful information on how to approach minors and adults with autism, during the identification of a missing person. In addition, the participants were informed by the officials of the Association about the correct use and/or non-use of equipment that may affect the behavior and safety of individuals.
