Two incidents of fire in houses in Limassol and Nicosia provinces, mobilized the Fire Brigade Service yesterday.
According to the Fire Department, the first incident occurred at 12 and 12 noon when a call was received about a fire in a two-story house in the area “Havouza” in the province of Limessou.
The Police and the Fire Service responded with two Fire Engines from the Agios Ioannis Fire Station Sergeant Vassilis Krokou.
By the fire and heat, the house suffered extensive damage. The tenants were absent abroad. After an investigation that followed, in collaboration with the Police and the Electromechanical Service, the fire appears to have been caused by lightning on the roof of the house.
