The dead include a 14-year-old girl
A Russian guided bomb attack in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv hit an apartment building and a playground, killing six people, including a 14-year-old girl, and injuring at least 55 others, local authorities said.

Three other people were killed in a 12-story apartment building that caught fire as a result of the attack , he added.
About 20 of the injured are being treated in serious condition, according to the governor of the region, Oleh Sinyekhubov. Rescuers and volunteers rushed to the scene to get the survivors out of the building. Residents of all ages, many of them covered in blood, sat impaled on street benches while medical staff attended to their injuries.
A video from the scene, uploaded by the head of the presidential office Andriy Yermak, showed huge flames and thick black smoke rising from the upper floors of the building.

Kharkov, Ukraine's second largest city, and the surrounding area have long been the target of Russian attacks, mostly using highly destructive guided bombs.
President Volodymyr Zelensky after today's attack again called on Western allies to allow Ukraine to carry out long-range attacks on Russian military air bases.
“The strike … would not have happened if the defense our forces had the ability to destroy Russian warplanes at their bases,” Zelensky said in a post on the Telegram app.
