Under investigation and Pediatrician in Paphos for fake vaccination certificates - Piles of complaints

Ignorance of what is being attributed to him was stated by the doctor / cardiologist who was brought before the Larnaca District Court yesterday. The doctor is charged with three counts of fake vaccination certificates. The doctor reportedly denied any involvement in the case. The doctor was arrested last night by members of the Police at his home in Larnaca as part of an investigation into a conspiracy to commit a crime, forgery of an official document, circulation of a forged document, securing registration with false representations, negligent acts causing bodily harm and of the General Health System Law. According to the Police, the day before yesterday, August 6, a citizen living in Larnaca reported to the Larnaca Police Department that his son (born in 1980) has been in the Intensive Care Unit of the Famagusta General Hospital since July 31 in serious condition due to Covid-19.

Due to the seriousness of the health condition of the 41-year-old man, the doctors proceeded to intubate him. According to the complainant, on August 5, he was informed that his son had confessed to medical and nursing staff of the Famagusta General Hospital that he had obtained a vaccination certificate against the disease when in fact he had not been vaccinated. Examinations revealed that the patient had indeed confessed to a doctor and nurses that he had not been vaccinated. According to the complainant, the 53-year-old general practitioner in Larnaca, who is registered with the GESS as a personal doctor, seems to have registered the 41-year-old patient in the OAY system as vaccinated without vaccinating him. It should be noted that from other examinations carried out it was found that at least one more patient seems to have been vaccinated through the said doctor while in fact he is not vaccinated and he is also treated at the General Hospital of Famagusta which operates as a Referral Hospital. Arrest and search warrants were obtained. The doctor was arrested on Friday night at his home. The police proceeded with investigations both in the house and in the doctor's office of the suspect, where a number of presumptions were received by the investigators of the case.

Three more cases

Yesterday, the publication of “P” was confirmed for three other cases of fake vaccination certificate, a few hours after the arrest of the 53-year-old doctor from Larnaca. As the press spokesman of the Police, Christos Andreou, stated yesterday, the two information that are being investigated concern incidents in Paphos and the third specific incident in Limassol. Mr. Andreou stated that the information came from the Ministry of Health and the investigation is still in the initial stage, testimonies are being received and anything that arises will be investigated in depth. One complaint concerns a pediatrician in Paphos, who gave a fake certificate to her son, who is now being treated positively for coronavirus at the Limassol General Hospital. According to information from KYPE, the case of Limassol concerns a couple who went to a specific personal doctor and asked to be admitted to the system as vaccinated, without having been vaccinated. When the doctor refused, the couple was removed from their list and we registered with another doctor. The case raised some suspicions to the first doctor, who gave the information and is investigating.
