Up to 100 thousand may be removed from Lebanon through “Estia” – The authorities are preparing for all scenarios, the Foreign Minister said – Continuous contacts with foreign countries and diplomatic missions in Cyprus
In the hundred thousands the number of foreign nationals that may be needed may rise to move away from Lebanon and be accommodated for a few hours in Cyprus, within the framework of the Home project, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Kombos. p>
Speaking on State Radio, Mr. Kombos pointed out, however, that this number may be lower, noting that in 2006 sixty thousand foreign nationals were removed from the region, via Cyprus.
The competent authorities , added Mr. Kombos they are preparing for all possible scenarios and are making constant contacts with foreign countries and diplomatic missions in Cyprus.
At the same time he expressed the hope that there will be a positive outcome in negotiations to avoid igniting the wide area.
