Updated syllabi for all classes have been posted

<p data-block-key=The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (YPAN) has announced that it has posted the updated Detailed Programs for all subjects, all classes of Primary (and Pre-Primary) and Secondary General Education.

In the announcement of the Ministry of Education it is emphasized that the work of updating the Analytical Programs continues in terms of reducing the material but also through the Recovery and Resilience Fund, by enriching them with digital abilities/skills and connecting them with the labor market needs.

The aim of YPAN is to further reduce the material and limit it to the basic, necessary and prerequisite in order to cultivate skills or abilities and to promote critical thinking and creativity, it is further stated.

The Ministry of Education notes that Working Groups consisting of teachers, inspectors, University and representatives of Educational Organizations, worked during the school year 2023 – 2024 to complete the first phase of this update.

Clarifies that the updated Analytical Programs for some subjects concern a reduction or change of the material, in their time classification and in cases where there was no substantial problem in a simple revision of the material.

He also adds that already, with the changes he implements in the student evaluation system at all levels, the application of alternative forms of evaluation and not only final evaluations (e.g. competitions) is promoted, so that skills and abilities can also be evaluated of children from pre-school age until the end of their schooling.

The whole project is framed by training of education officials and teachers by the inspectors and the Pedagogical Institute, both on a school basis, as well as centrally, with the aim of having rich educational material and also empowering teachers, he continues.

He notes that he is preparing a bank of digital material for all courses, utilizing good practices from trainings, from the work of classroom teachers and from the Institute of Educational Policy of Greece, which will constantly be enriched.

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Neolaias adds that he continues the effort, so that the content of the lessons is updated and supports the transition to the modern, student-centered and inclusive school which is his goal.
