Two contracts were signed today for the construction and expansion of the Sewerage System, irrigation and water supply to connect residential areas of the Municipality of Agia Napa.
In a written statement from the Municipality of Ayia Napa it is stated that "they were signed today, Friday January 20, by Mayor Christos Zannettos and President of the Sewerage Council of Ayia Napa (S.A.A.N) and Lambros Lambrou, Managing Director of the Company L & L Earthmoving Contractors Ltd Lambrou Lambrou, two Contracts for the construction and expansion of Sewerage System, irrigation and water supply system for the service residential areas to the Municipality of Ayia Napa with a total value of 1.5 million euros».
It is added that «one contract is worth 765,469.00 thousand euros (now VAT) and concerns the "Stadiou" streets and "Salt Water" and the second worth 740,325.00 (plus VAT) for various city streets. According to the two contracts, the projects will be completed in a period of 11 months.
The President of the Council stated that "with the implementation of these new projects, the Municipality of Ayia Napa will be served in its entirety, except for some small streets that will be subsequently covered by the Central Sewerage System of the Ayia Napa Sewerage Council. The two projects are an important step in the modernization of the Sewerage System, which will contribute to the further saving of drinking water and in the protection of the city's environment”.
He also mentioned that “despite the difficulties we face due to the health and economic crisis caused by the pandemic and Russia's war in Ukraine, we continue to carry out projects that contribute to the progress and development of our city as well as to the upgrading of the quality of the lives of our citizens”.
He also noted that “soon the announcement of new tenders for additional extensions and works to serve additional residential areas will be announced”.
