Consumer confidence moved to higher than expected levels in the US in August, according to data from the University of Michigan report.
The index rose to 67.5 points from 66.4 in July but also above the estimate for 66.6 points. However, the current conditions index fell to 60.9, the lowest since December 2022, while the expectations index climbed to 72.1.
On inflation, the one and five outlooks years remained stable at 2.9% and 3.0% respectively.
