Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, responsible for the guns on the set of the movie “Rust”, was sentenced yesterday Monday (15/4) to 18 months in prison for the death of cinematographer Halina Hutchins in October 2021.
Last month Gutierrez-Reed, 27, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for accidentally putting a live bullet in Alec Baldwin's revolver, with which the famous actor fired during a rehearsal, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.
Defense attorney Jason Bowles had requested a stay of execution, a request that was denied on the grounds of “lack of remorse”. Prosecutor Carrie Morrissey recalled that the accused had called the jury “stupid” and spoke of “paid” court officials, while she continued to blame others for the murder in the shooting.
Alec's trial Baldwin is set for July 10, after a grand jury indicted him in January for negligent homicide.
