Vaccination of the elderly in the Municipality of Athienos, aged 75 to 95, begins today, Saturday, following arrangements by the Ministry of Health.
In a written statement, the Municipality of Athienou states that “the Ministry of Health, listening to Athenou's request, to help the elderly who want to be vaccinated against the coronavirus and live in the area of Athienou and find it difficult to go to the vaccination centers of 6 cities, In February 2021, a mobile unit vaccinated 138 elderly people of the Municipality, aged 75 to 95 years “.
The vaccination will start at 8.30 in the morning at the Athienou Health Center. All the elderly who will be vaccinated have been registered by the Municipality and have been informed to be presented at the Health Center at different intervals per group, in order to avoid overcrowding in the area.
According to the announcement, “the Mayor of Athienos, Kyriakos Kareklas, expressed his warm thanks to the Deputy Director of Medical Services of the Ministry of Health, Olga Kalakouta, who immediately understood the problem with the relocation of the elderly and arranged for the vaccination to take place in Athienou.”
The Mayor also thanked all the Officers of the Ministry of Health who help in the vaccination of the most vulnerable Athenians, headed by Georgia Christodoulou, Head of Health Visitors Larnaca – Famagusta. The Municipality of Athienou will continue its efforts, so that in the next period a new vaccination will be arranged for younger elderly citizens who also find it difficult to move to the vaccination centers of the cities “.
