The news of the death of Archimandrite George Ioannou, the beloved grandfather of Vasiliki Hatziadamos and a particularly beloved person in the wider area of ​​Kokkinochoria.
The news of his death first became known through a post by the grandson of Marios Adamos, where he wrote on Facebook: “The Old Man – Papas “gone”. We had forgotten that he was mortal and would one day leave our midst.”

Following this, with a second post from the official Facebook page of the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Sotira, the unpleasant news was announced.
They wrote characteristically: “With feelings of human sorrow, the passing away to the Lord of our highly respected Archimandrite George Ioannou is announced, which occurred in the morning hours today.
We pray that the Lord of Life will rank him in the ranks of the Righteous and the Saints and make him a Minister of the Heavenly Altar.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, November 26th at 2:00 pm at the Church of the Resurrection of the Savior in Sotira. Instead of wreaths, at his own request, please make contributions for the construction of the church of St. Marina.
