Heavy rainfall occurred in various semi-mountainous areas of Cyprus in the early afternoon, as predicted by the Meteorological Service.

As can be seen from a video posted on social media , it seems that severe weather phenomena are observed in Klirou, Athienou and other semi-mountainous areas.
According to the afternoon forecast of Meteorology, seasonal low pressure and unstable air mass are affecting the area.
Tonight the weather will become mostly clear, however there will be occasional increased clouds in the west and north. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually light 3 Beaufort. The sea will gradually become a bit rough. The temperature will drop to around 20 degrees in the interior, around 22 on the coasts and around 14 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow night the weather will become mostly clear, although there will be occasional increased cloud in the west. Winds will be mainly northwest to northeast, weak 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to a little rough.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday clouds developing in the afternoon and early afternoon, isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in mountainous and inland areas.
The temperature is not expected to change appreciably, to stay close to the average climatological values.
