Ready to set sail for its maiden voyage is the passenger ship M/V Daleela, which has been moored since Wednesday (15/6) in the port of Limassol. The managers of the shipping company Scandro, which took over the sea passenger connection Cyprus – Greece, have been working feverishly for a few days now, putting the finishing touches and settling small issues so that everything is ready for the first voyage.
After 21 years, Cypriots now have the opportunity to travel by boat from Limassol to Piraeus and vice versa. This is a service that, despite the initial difficulties that existed with the offers, was nevertheless crowned with success thanks to the persistent effort of the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Vassilis Dimitriadis and his associates.
The maiden voyage of the sea passenger connection is scheduled for Sunday, June 19 and it will be traveled by the Undersecretary to the President, Kyriakos Kousios, the Undersecretaries, Savvas Perdios and Vassilis Dimitriadis, the Undersecretary of Tourism of Greece, Sofia Zepha Transport, the mayor of Limassol, journalists and associates of the sub. Shipping as well as the advisor to the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Andreas Karamitas. Before the departure of the ship, an event will take place in the port of Limassol where the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis will address a greeting.

“It's as if they are traveling on a cruise ship and not on a passenger ship,” Scandro CEO and one of the owners, Marios Michael, told F, stressing that the ship has been completely refurbished and offers the comfort and luxury it meets. nobody on modern cruise ships. The first route will carry 120 passengers, while 45 vehicles will be transported as well as motorcycles and bicycles. About 5 pets will also travel.
The M/V Daleela has a carrying capacity of 400 people and has 6 VIP cabins, 38 1st class cabins (110 passengers), 68 2nd class cabins (180 passengers), 110 aircraft seats and can carry more than 100 vehicles. Mr. Michael noted that the cabins of the 2nd class will have shared toilets, but separately for men and women.
Initially, passengers will encounter an impressive welcome which, as Mr. Michael described to us, can hardly be found on modern cruise ships. On the same floor there is a playground for small passengers as well as reception areas. “Inside the ship there is a seating area where passengers can sit in armchairs and enjoy their journey. It is a place with a lot of luxury “, he noted, also mentioning that there is a doctor's office. There are also two bars on the same floor. As he explained, one is outside and the other is inside.
An important advantage, as Mr. Michael added, is that all the facilities – services of the ship are located on the reception floor. “All services are available in this space, which has been designed to be easily accessible, even for fellow human beings who have mobility problems.”

There will be gambling tables and roulette in the casino area, while there will also be 30 slot machines. The space has been adapted with seats for the passengers-visitors of the games of chance.
