The liquid fuel storage terminal facilities of VTT Vasiliko Limited in Vasiliko were visited by a group of students from the Livadia Regional High School. The visit took place as part of the DRASE Program with the aim of giving the students the opportunity to learn about the industry of storage, management and transport of liquid fuels in our country and also to understand the potential risks and the importance of the protection and prevention protocols applied in the facilities of VTTV in order to minimize risks and protect people and the environment. The students were informed about the various procedures and controls that are followed for safety and health at work as well as the plans for dealing with emergency situations in case of accidents or spills.
Students and teachers described the visit as very constructive because apart from the educational nature and the unique experience of seeing up close the facilities and how a petroleum storage and management terminal works, companies like VTTV can offer students a practical and real experience and to inspire them to choose a field of study and in the future to pursue career paths that they might not have considered before.
The VTTV team made every effort to make the visit not only educational, engaging and interactive for the students and accompanying teachers of the Regional Lyceum of Livadia, offering appropriate guidance and answering all the questions raised.
