The letter of the occupying leader, Ersin Tatar, to the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, dated June 20, clarifies the context of the movements of the occupying power in the Cyprus issue. The letter, the full content of which we are publishing today, is in response to the one sent to him by President Anastasiadis on May 20. In it, then, Tatar codifies the Turkish aspirations and sets conditions for the Cyprus issue to proceed.
The Ankara resident states in his short letter, among other things:
First, he notes that there is no basis for the negotiations, referring to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and his reference to the informal Geneva Pentagon, that there is no “common ground”!

Second, he proposes and insists as a precondition for the next steps, the acceptance by the Greek side of “sovereign equality”, the “equal international regime” and the recognition of the “inherent rights” of the Turkish Cypriots. That is, a condition for starting a negotiation process & nbsp; is the acceptance of the existence of two states on the island. & Nbsp;
Third, he calls for the lifting of the so-called isolation of the Turkish Cypriots and calls on the Greek Cypriot side to end “Fourth policies”.
Fourth, he announced that he intends to submit his own package of Confidence-Building Measures, which will be based on the framework he has set, ie the logic of good neighborly relations.
< p>The letter largely shakes any bridges of conciliation in the Cyprus issue as the Turkish side “fortifies” itself behind the two-state solution and tries to put this pursuit on the agenda of the talks.
