The final touches in their suggestions for the relaxations that will be implemented from March 1 are put by an epidemiological team and a technical committee, with the week that we are going through being considered decisive for the evaluation of the existing measures. The members of the advisory committee of epidemiologists will go to the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, where they will first have a meeting with the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis and then will inform the party leaders. Decisions on the next steps will be locked on Thursday at the cabinet meeting.
Satisfied, but…
The Minister of Health Konstantinos Ioannou in his post on twitter referred to the epidemiological picture of Cyprus, which he characterized as satisfactory, calling on the people to continue the effort to achieve stabilization of the epidemiological indicators. As Mr. Ioannou typically emphasizes, the health condition is improved, but the mutation of the virus and other factors do not allow complacency. The goal of both the Ministry of Health and the epidemiologists is to proceed conservatively and carefully, at a time when pressures from economic circles and political parties on the government are intensifying. The biggest “problem” concerns the reopening of the restaurants, with the period of the carnivals making the work of the specialists difficult.
