The decisions taken at the meeting held for the employees of NICOSIA PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES AND OPERATIONS LTD were announced by the Ministries of Labor and Transport. & nbsp;
On 26/3/2022, a meeting was held between the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance and the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works and service agents with representatives of the NPT company and the SEK and PEO unions, during which the following were discussed and decided:
Wages
Regular wages will be paid until 22.3.2022 (until noon) and the matter will be handled by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works. (same setting as Larnaca).
Surpluses
The Company stated that it has withdrawn the dismissal letters.
In case the matter is returned, it will be handled by the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance. >
Tachographs
It was stressed and agreed that the tachographs must be properly regulated and that the competent Departments of the two Ministries (Department of Road Transport (TOM) and Department of Labor Inspection (TEE)) should check them in order to respect the driving times of & nbsp; drivers, rest hours, breaks, etc.
It was agreed that within the current week an inspection will be carried out by the workshop with which the Company cooperates in the presence of TOM and if necessary, the tachographs will be recalibrated.
The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works stressed that in case the problems with the tachographs continue, then the Guilds and the bus drivers can report them directly to him and to the TOM.
Vacation Leaves-Procedure for granting and informing staff
It was agreed that the relevant applications for summer vacations will be submitted two (2) months in advance and employees will be informed in a timely manner about their receipt, so so that employees know when they will receive their summer leave on time and a system of rotating summer leave leave will be implemented.
Letters for misconduct
The two sides will consult on the preparation of a disciplinary code and penalties with the assistance of the Department of Labor Relations (TEC). In addition, the two sides will discuss the revision of the vocabulary of the letters given to the staff, as well as the time that the letters will remain in the personal file of the employees, according to the new disciplinary code. If necessary, the Minister of Labor and Social Security will check & nbsp; the arrangements to be agreed.
Bus safety
The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works stressed the need to strengthen drivers' sense of security and said he would discuss the matter with the Chief of Police and the Minister of Justice and Public Order to find immediate solutions.
The Company is responsible for any damage to the buses when the driver is away from the bus, except for the driver's money and personal belongings.
The Director of the Labor Inspection Department stressed that the legislation on safety and health at work provides that it is the obligation of the employer to provide sanitary facilities for both male and female employees and mentioned the penalties in case of non-compliance.
< p>The Company will find within 20 days suitable sanitary facilities which will be used by drivers, without paying. Traffic ticket
The Company will post at the respective stations a table with the working time that the employees will be paid and will fully cover the working time for which each employee will be compensated.

Part time drivers
The two sides will discuss the issue of part-time drivers at the TES, within ten (10) days, so that they can agree on the resolution of the issue.
Work programs- Itineraries
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works will immediately carry out a qualitative assessment of the time of execution of the itineraries, ie whether the time determined by the Company for the execution of the itineraries is sufficient, taking into account, among other things, the traffic and will prepare a relevant report. which will be submitted to the competent Ministers.
The Labor Inspection Department will conduct an audit to determine whether the Company complies with the provisions of the law in relation to safe working methods and will report to the competent Ministers. /> p>
Breaks
The Company will designate a competent person with whom the Trade Unions can communicate in case problems are identified with the breaks.
