The Department of Geological Survey of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment in a statement states that on Wednesday 28 December 2022 and local time 04:11 an earthquake of magnitude M = was recorded by the department's seismological network 3.9 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake had its epicenter in the maritime area of Cyprus, 20 kilometers west of Paphos and a focal depth of 5 kilometers. The earthquake was felt in the province of Paphos, slightly felt in the province of Limassol and perceived in the provinces of Larnaca and Nicosia.
